Inspiration
Long before George C. Wolfe's words resurfaced in the cultural conversation, they became part of mine. I first encountered the quote, "God created Black people, and Black people created style," during a 2017 visit with my daughter and cousin to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. The words stayed with me because they celebrated style as something far greater than fashion. They spoke to identity, creativity, resilience, and the way clothing has long been used as a form of cultural expression. This garment is my reflection on that moment.

Crafted from cotton knit jersey, the Black Style cut-off sweat top features a slightly cropped length, a relaxed boxy silhouette, and raw-edge detailing. Designed to be comfortable, expressive, and effortlessly wearable, it is a piece intended to be lived in for years to come.

How we describe fit
Every dimension is placed on this line. The middle is the room the pattern intends; to the left is closer to your body than drafted, to the right is more room. Most of what falls off the middle is something the atelier would simply adjust.
