Semi Sheer Organza Maxi Skirt
Inspiration
Inspired by the iconic five-pocket denim skirt, this design reimagines a timeless classic through a contemporary lens. It reflects my early design explorations of 70s-inspired denim silhouettes, and years later the cultural re-emergence of the denim maxi in black fashion and neo-soul style. This piece transforms a familiar classic into something modern, feminine, and refined, while honoring a silhouette that has continued to evolve across generations.
Garment
Crafted from a softly shimmering two-ply polyester organza, this maxi skirt offers light transparency with more coverage than traditional organza. Fitted through the waist and hips, it gently curves into a subtle barrel silhouette before falling to a clean maxi length. Inspired by classic five-pocket denim construction, it features front pockets with coin pocket, back patch pockets, belt loops, a fly-front zipper, traditional yoke, matching top stitching, and a center back slit for ease of movement. Designed to move effortlessly from day to evening, it pairs easily with a t-shirt and sneakers or a cropped top and heels.
Care
Hand wash or machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, line dry, medium iron if needed.

How we describe fit
Every dimension is placed on this line. The middle is the room the pattern intends; to the left is closer to your body than drafted, to the right is more room. Most of what falls off the middle is something the atelier would simply adjust.
