In the Details

In the spring of 2026, while walking home from physical therapy, I noticed a single hibiscus blooming outside an ordinary building. Its presence stopped me — a familiar symbol of Haiti appearing unexpectedly along my path, carrying memory, beauty, and a quiet sense of healing.

That moment reflects the way I approach 8 Point Intersection: paying attention to what might otherwise be passed by, and allowing personal history to become part of a visual narrative. Like a carefully placed seam, texture, or hand-finished detail, the hibiscus reminds me that meaning often lives in small discoveries — and that beauty, resilience, and renewal can emerge in unexpected places.
